GCC CONSULTING
Start with the Decision. Not the Build.
Before you commit to building a GCC, FlywheelTech helps you decide whether you should — and exactly what it needs to look like if you do.
The most expensive mistake in GCC planning is building before the architecture is clear. The second most expensive is not building when you should have. Our Advisory engagement answers both questions — with enough rigour to take to a board — before any execution commitment is made.
Consulting is available at three stages: before the GCC is created, during build and operation, and post-transfer. At each stage, the questions are different. The discipline is the same: design before you execute.
THE ENGAGEMENT
Map Your AI Workloads. Audit Your Vendor Exposure. Design the Right Architecture.
A 60–90 day structured engagement that produces a board-ready business case — yours to keep whether you proceed or not.
Advisory covers five core workstreams:
AI workload mapping
What you are running, what you plan to run, and what the architecture requirements are for each.
Vendor exposure audit
Across the five AI lock-in dimensions that matter most to regulated financial institutions: pricing lock-in, IP lock-in, data lock-in, regulatory lock-in, and knowledge lock-in.
Talent strategy design
The right skills, the right geography, the right sequencing for your specific situation.
GCC architecture
Operating model design, governance framework, org structure, and the ten AI operational domains your new model requires.
Board-ready business case
The financial model, the risk case, and the recommendation. You own every deliverable. There is no commitment to proceed to BOT.
ONGOING CONSULTING
Consulting That Continues Through Every Stage of the GCC Lifecycle.
Advisory before commitment. Architecture support during build. Expert access after transfer.
Pre-creation
Should you build a GCC? What kind? For which workloads? The advisory engagement answers these questions before you commit to anything.
During build
As the GCC is being built and operated, FlywheelTech's architecture and prototyping teams remain available — to review decisions, course-correct, and ensure the build stays aligned with the original architecture.
Post-transfer
After ownership transfers to you, the same teams remain available for specific work — architecture reviews, new workload onboarding, prototyping. Engagement is on-demand, not retainer. There is no ongoing dependency.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Advisory Phase Is Where Expensive Mistakes Are Prevented.
Most GCC failures are architecture failures. The Advisory engagement is designed to prevent them.
The organisations that struggle with GCCs are almost always the ones that started with execution before completing architecture. They hired a team before defining what it was supposed to build. They committed to a geography before evaluating the talent strategy. They chose a structure before auditing their vendor exposure.
Advisory forces the architecture conversation to happen before the commitment. It is the most valuable part of the engagement for most clients — and it stands alone. If you proceed to BOT, the Advisory work becomes the foundation. If you do not, you still leave with a board-ready business case and a clear architecture for your AI transformation.
